Casually labelling ourselves as slaves disrespects what being a slave means

I get annoyed when ppl tell me we’re slaves (to the “system”, to the government, to our wages) and actually believe we’re slaves. Casually labelling ourselves as slaves disrespects what being a slave means. Especially when this is in response to explaining to them that farmed animals are our non-consenting property and slaves! But of course if we were slaves like the other animals who are discriminated against and exploited for not being human, we’d be in cages and cueing up for slaughter.
