Veganism isn’t about what products someone currently owns. It’s about justice. That is, veganism is a mindset that says it’s wrong to exploit others regardless of the perceived benefits. Thus, a vegan can own a product of slavery that they bought prior to becoming vegan BUT a vegan cannot continue funding the institution of slavery. Only non-vegans do that.
