I hold that there is just one variety of veganism

I hold that there is just one variety of veganism; that veganism denotes a single phenomenon. Essentially, being vegan involves adopting a particular ethical stance (recognizing that sentient nonhumans are irreplaceable persons who shouldn’t be exploited or murdered) as well as the behaviors consistent with that stance (not participating in the exploitation and murder of nonhumans to the greatest extent possible in our deeply speciesist society).
