Where most people do not see a moral difference between eating a hamburger and a carrot

In a society where speciesism is so ingrained, where most people do not see a moral difference between eating a hamburger and a carrot, I would suggest that it is impossible to be completely “pure” and avoid inflicting all suffering on animals. Veganism, in such a society, is not about complete “purity”, it is about doing the best you can to avoid using and abusing sentient non-human animals.
